Re: going from a 929RRY/1 to a 954RR2/3 FireBlade

What would your incentive be for changing?

Literally they are the same bike, power wise the 954 has a few extra CC's and a few minor mods engine and frame wise but again, they are fairly similar.

The body work is defiantly different, and IMO the 954RR looks better (well i do have one so maybe I'm biased )

Re: going from a 929RRY/1 to a 954RR2/3 FireBlade

just looking around like i always do at this time of year, before i decied weather to do another year on my old faithfull

iv'e had her since 2002 and she has been a superb bike, totally faultless

i was just wondering if the 954 was a big enough step ahead of the 929 to warrant a "upgrade" or not really? if not i'll not bother changing just yet

all feedback and owners opinions greatfully recieved

Re: going from a 929RRY/1 to a 954RR2/3 FireBlade

just to add....i'm not a big fan of the pre08 1000cc fireblades

iv'e ridden the RR4/5 and it was very disapointing to ride
personaly i like a bike that feels "alive" in your hands, and the RR4/5 just didnt do that for me, i guess it could be livend up a bit

iv'e ridden the RR6 and liked it alot, engine wise it felt alot more inspiring than the RR4/5 and felt more lively when pushed ..... but i'm not a big fan of the underseat exhaust look

from what iv'e read the 954 isnt really any better for my needs than the 929 ?

I think 10% more power, and 9lbs lighter is good. I also like the look of the 954 alot better.......................

Rode an 01 and own a 02....updated look-check, reduced weight (same as a F4i)-check and about 10hp from an extra 25cc (stock to stock)-check

and

if you can get one cheap and won't loose too much on your current bike (after market parts) jump on it

New 04 is actually about 18 pounds HEAVIER largely due to that underseat exhaust but it does have a few more ponies

Re: going from a 929RRY/1 to a 954RR2/3 FireBlade

Hi i had a rry 929 and now have a rr2 954 as i trashed the latter.
The 954 seems more nimble, is lighter at 168kg i believe and seems to be heavier on petrol but i would say the most significant difference is that it feels more race orientated and much more susceptable/responsive to where the riders weight is on the bike and there dosent seem to be as much weight on the front wheel as there was on the 929.
In conclusion both bikes are great in my opinion but the rr2 does seem to be more race track oriented and althrough both look great the rr2 has some awesum lines to the tank which i love.

Hope this helps.
