hey just purchased my first motorcycle its a 96 cbr900rr purchased it from my boss and fell in love with the bike scince the moment i saw it. i have read up on it and seems to be a very solid bike! quite intimidated by it being a 900cc superbike and me learning how to ride it. but anyways going to post pics of it soon ! and thanks in advance for all the problably not so smart questions soon to come

how much do these bikes usually go for? my boss just put a new alternator, sprocket, chain, belts and brakes done to it i picked it up for 2200$us its got 30,000 miles on it and yeah i figured it be a tough one to learn on, but het im hard headed and stubborn so im sure ill get it

ohh yeah and new tires front and back, and yeah it looks really clean but scince it being my first bike what do i generally check for? ? i will post pics as soon as i can its got some red anodized pieces and carbon fiber cluster

set up the suspension sag and keep tabs on tire pressure before you go for a ride. if you dont have a motorcycle license take the msf safety course. first bike dont worry about upgrades just yet incase you drop it. everyone will drop a bike in their lifetime if they ride for any amount of time. btw did you buy any safety gear yet cause thats a good place to start upgrading.

congrats. i just purchased a fireblade myself and couldn't be happier! just take things slow and don't try to keep pace with more experianced riders if your in a pack. i see a lot of new guys that try to keep up and end up laying the bike down. Deffinatly take the MSF course. you will get a lot of good info and a discount on your insurance too. also you should pick up Keith code's Twist of the Wrist vol 1 and 2 from the bookstore.

IMHO I never like to see peeps buying litre bikes as their first one. Honest Im not an old fuddy duddy, I just hate to see virgin bikers go big, generally it ends in disaster and that is so sad.

Having said that, be careful, take it easy, do it at your own "pace" and many long years of happy riding. Hope youve got all the gear too.

on the safety gear, you'll never know how important it is until you're sliding down the road..... hopefully that won't happen of course!

Congratulations on the bike, they are great bikes BUT with great power comes great responsibility, I'd say get some training and take it easy on the Blade!

hey no pics yet ill post them tomorrow! ! anyhow i need some gear i have nothing to start with ! need some advice on what gear to get ! besides a helmet . and id like to thank you all again for being so welcoming and all the input and positive comments and yes i wont ride till i have all the necessary gear or my motorcycle license, insurance is not required here in florida and me being 21 will pay out the @$$ for it !!!
