Tyre Inflation - or am I stupid?

Hi there I've just got a 1999 Fireblade and went to put some air into the tyres and found that I couldn't!!

On arriving at the garage I went over the air dispenser and after much wrangling managed to get a good fit on the rear tyre and inflated it OK to 42psi...

However, because the front disk is so large, try as I may, I couldn't get the air nozzle onto the tyre's nozzle - cos the air dispenser nozzle is on the end of a long metal tube...

Any ideas...thank's

I went to Wal-Mart and bought one of the small air compressors and put clips to connect it to the battery and I just leave in in the trunk of my 929 because of that same thing

Re: Tyre Inflation - or am I stupid?

I have a brass instrument which is an extension but with a kink in it - its basically an elbow.

I used to see a lot of classics (with the wire wheels) with them on and have used mine for nearly all of my bikes.

I'll try and get a picture of it for you.

Also, the bicycle pumps (the foot ones) have these type of connectors on them (ignore the extension lead) - they would also help.

Even with the metal tube, you should be able to get it between the wheel and the disk, takes a bit of fiddling but should be able to do it. It's a PITA when I do mine

Do, or do not, there is no try !

Mine is like that! Great piece of kit to have - and you can remove it so you can use it on your other cars/bikes instead of having a fixed valve.

I get an angle valve stem fitted on the front when I do my first tyre change. Worth every cent.
