RE: CBR1k Testing

Mitch Boehm sent me an email today

{Booth} "When do you guys get your mits on the new Blade and
what issue will you have a first ride on it(ballpark)?"

{Mitch} "Booth
March issue, out in about five weeks.
Look at the website for a teaser..."

So it looks like the new bike should be at dealerships on time

Re: CBR1k Testing

I was at the stealer today and I was told that they were due to get the first one at either the end of Jan or the beginning of Feb. Pretty good I thought if it isn't shitty info. I also heard the ZX10 was due in Jan. The 450R on the other hand isn't due until Feb (very very limited numbers) and the "rest" will arrive in March.

Should be interesting.

You talkin' the TRX450R?
I got a call to see if I wanted to come get mine yesterday. I went and checked it out this morning.

You lucky . Nice! I went in looking for some release info. I guess they said they were due out last week but they weren't getting theirs for another few weeks. I think they are getting 2-3. Then honda told them they wouldn't see the remaining ones for another month at least. High demand and only getting a few out to each dealer. What I was told anyway.

I did get to sit on the new yami. Not bad at all. Pretty slick machine. I think the new 450's are going to rip. I've been waiting a long time to replace my beloved 250r.... Can't wait...

Re: CBR1k Testing

Yeah, they'll rip alright. I had a few opportunities to ride the YFZ450 this fall, and while I only opted for a spin around the 'camp' (out at the dunes), it felt like a fun bike. They have a second gear problem, though.
I passed on this 450R, as I wasn't planning on mine until end of Jan., and I don't really need it before then anyway. They just called the second guy on the list - they'll get more money out of him anyway.
The TRX sits a tad higher than the YFZ - if I remember right - as the seat feels like it's got a bit more padding. Controls are all in the right place, just like the 250R.
When I get mine, I can report how the stocker goes against my bud's worked 250R.

Re: CBR1k Testing

Please do. I sold my 250r a few years ago and I loved it. Ran a lonestar frame, 330 stroker motor, full lonestar arms, CR500 link, elka shocks, most of the goodies. Spent a fortune on it but it was really a lot of fun. Had my son and got rid of it for financial help but would love to get another. I have ridden the 450F and that is a great motor. I think it'll work really well in a quad. For those of us that have been waiting for a TRUE production racer to replace the 250r, this could be something special. We'll see but from what I have read, the new bike combines all the best atributes of the 250r's handling with real open class power. Should be an absolute blast to ride.

Let me know when you get yours. I'd like to hear what you think of it....

That doesn't mean squat. The 600RR was supposed to be on time too, and it got delayed at the last minute

Re: CBR1k Testing

Dealers have yet to order the 1000rr so it will be some time before they arrive. The R1 will be first. The zx10(ugly) is not being made yet due to changes after the tire tests according to one of the riders via a friend, so that bike will be delayed as well. Don't hold your breath!
