Re: Smoking On Decel

makes a lot of sense, vacuum is highest then, drags the oil down the valve stems, might need guides too, replace the seals, and if they go bad again, worry about it then

Re: Smoking On Decel

only if the oil consumption is recorded by a shop and is decided to be excessive. It has to effect the ability of the bike to operate. Unless it is using a lot of oil already they probably will do nothing, get it low and make it knock, then fill it up and bring it in. I would read the warranty and the fine print to be 100 percent before following any of that **** though, could get expensive if you are not covered somehow.

Re: Smoking On Decel

you have to lose a little, I am using about a quart between oil changes and no one including me notices any smoke, I have rode behind mine while a friend is beating the crap out of it, and had no smoking even from a 12k decel. that is on my 05 cbr 1k, if you have a warranty for 5 years you have some time to decide what you want to do, keep an eye on it.

Re: Smoking On Decel

btw what kind of slip on do you have? reason i ask is i have the 2bros slip on that is im sure you know pretty much straight exhaust which has no back pressure, could this be contributing to this?

Re: Smoking On Decel

I also run the two brothers, I found it is the deepest and loudest, You still have plenty of backpressure, I almost left the flapper valve in the exhaust but it only keeps it quiet at idle, no other purpose

Re: Smoking On Decel

quick question. Do you have to much oil in the bike? I know it sound dumb but it can happen. If you gun it and shift quick do you get a puff of smoke? The black can be cured with a new fuel map. The blue smoke might be something a little more simple. I had a friend that had the same problem. He spent a couple hundred when he just needed a pint less oil.
