Bike now due in January

So I call the dealer, and he tell sme the bike will arrive on the boat probably Dec 23 or 24. Now, seeing as Honda will close for Xmas (as everyone does) and wont open until jan5 My bike wont get to the shop until Jan 10 and, I have to be in Perth for a job from Jan 10 - 16

Not happy. Then, January 29, I fly to the US and Canada for 5 weeks... So, I will have the vike for all of about 10 days It's just not fair I tell you! almost tempted to say "fuggit" and just get a red one, or really say fuggit and just hold out for the 1000rr... Seeing as it's only about 10 riding days difference now anyway. So much for late November/mid December...

I've been calling Honda dealers form Gosford to Wollongong, no one has a blue one. Id id find one, but it got sold about 5 minutes before I rang. the guy was signing the paperwork as I was talking to the sales guy. It's not the dealers fault though, it's the actual shipment arriving late. All Honda dealers ar ein the same boat, if they don't have a bike, they have to wait for that boat to dock and be unloaded. A huge PITFA... I'll be scouring bike shops this weekend to see if anyone has a brand spanker new blue one, but, let me tell you, the wait for the 1000rr don't look so long anymore...

Re: Bike now due in January

That does suck. I (we) know that you've gathered a veritable warehouse of aftermarket goodies for the 954, so switching mid-stream might be more of a pain than is readily apparent.

What's the time difference between deliveries of the two bikes? Whatever they tell you about the 1000 is almost certainly going to be wrong. Hell, they couldn't even get the delivery date on the 954 right

Get A 954, and ride. Worry about the color later, if it still tickles your fancy to have a blue one.

BTW, I PMd you, did you get it?

Re: Bike now due in January

Either way, form the osunds of it, I wont be riding 'tillI get back form Canada/US (early march) I wish they would just give "accurate" dates I can work around. Had I known it would take so long, I would have bought a red one to begin with when they were in stock a month ago. As far as the 954 parts, it ain't so bad, The Arata is easy to sell, I have people I know asking me about it, I sold my old hindle within 10 minutes of putting feelers out. The Damper I'll probably end up giving to my GF and buying a CBR6 mount for it. SPools should fit the 1000RR. It's just the waiting that pi$$es me off now, I should have been riding by now...

Decided to go this option. Found what has to be the last red/black 954 in Sydney (about 2 hrs drive north) So I'll be decking my van out with restraining bits and going to pick it up saturday, if all goes to plan I just want a bike, and I like the 03 red/black anyway, even if blue/black was my prefferred colour, I'll be very happy with the red

Re: Bike now due in January

yeah I had a hard time deciding between the red/black and the blue/black both look great, anyway if u didnt end up getting the the 954 i definatley would have been putting dibs on the arata! hey if u wanna go for a cruise some time Zee just let me know, I realise ull be running it in at first, but if u just want to go for an easy ride that would be ok!
