I chose what is generally considered to be the best looking color scheme of each. If the majority thinks that I should use a different scheme for the R1, I'll restart the poll using that.

Re: CBR1000RR vs R1 (Looks Alone)

When I look at these photos I gotta go with the Yamaha, but will reserve final judgment until I see them side by side at my local stealer.

Re: CBR1000RR vs R1 (Looks Alone)

After seeing them not side by side, but across a crowded room I voted R1. The tail of it isn't as good looking I don't think but the Yammie just looks more nimble than the big CBR. Perhaps it's the way that mid fairing envelopes the front wheel that makes the CBR look oafish to me. Reminds me of how the Hayabusa fairing does the same thing. R1 just looks thinner and quicker.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

I hear ya. From the start I've had a problem with that aspect of the new Honda. But it seems in "actual" photos of the bike to not be so bad.

Looks is a hard choice on this one. If they were both the same color, it would be hard to tell them apart other than the swingarm.
The R1 is a sexy beast indeed, but truth be told I wouldn't buy either one (I didn't vote in the poll).

viva la 929!!!
