Toaday's catch has been a good one. What should we rant about tomorrow. Any suggestions?

personally, I think the new Blade's stock exhaust looks better b/c to me, it looks "cleaner".... just my opinion...

on the other hand, I think R1's stock exhaust could've been done a little bit better...meaning, disguising the routing of the midpipes better...I know it's nitpicking, but it's my $10K+ to spend, so I'll bitch all I want!!!!

Sure. Perhaps they could slapped some plastic on it to disguise it a bit better, like Honda did (see the pic).

I dislike the cheap-looking heat shields on the end of the Honda's muffler, the sheer SIZE of the muffler itself, and the chintzy plastic sheild on the vertical part of the pipe. I also think the RR's exhaust sticks out a bit too far.

But personally, I think I'd rather have the underseat storage compartment and a side-mounted exhaust can than any of the underseat designs that have become the norm.

Hmm, ever measured how short those RR mufflers are? Way shorter than any of the usual aftermarket cans are, besides the fact that they have to have a slight bend in them. As far as them sticking out too far, look at an RR that has the whole license plate and signals relocated way forward and has an aftermarket exhaust on it. It looks like someone is sneaking home an extra muffler under the bike. They look like they stick out too far. Granted the plate bracket and covers could be more aesthically pleasing but where do you want the $$ spent, on how your ass looks or how your bike rides?

Well, personally, I want the bike to ride great. I want it to be effortlessly fast, to turn and stop as if wired directly to my brain. But since the conversations around here (including this thread) have specifically questioned "looks", I was expressing my opinion on how the bike looks.

Well judging by all the stupid you post about on here anything wired to your brain would spontaneously explode in about 3 nanoseconds. Therefore no bike would ever be able to please you, except for the almighty R1 of course. So let's end all this BS and be done with it. Go wank off for the next 4-5months 'til the bikes come out then buy what you want and add your stickers/powdercoating as you please. This crap's getting ridiculous. If you haven't realized by now everyone's posting this chit to get you all wound up and it works like a charm every time! So just for future reference, if you see another 1000RR vs R1 thread, it's sole purpose is to get you to repeat what you've already typed out 134,745,982 times.

Go complain to all the other people who have opinions on the subject. QuikMike and CBRBob, for example.
When there is something OTHER than looks to talk about (like a comparison test), we'll get to discussing it.
I'm not the one starting this abundance of recent threads. I participate because there's too many Honda-branded sheep around these parts.

If you don't like my opinions, either skip over my posts, or shut up.

Hey genius...if you think it's working, WTF are you complaining about?

The HondaGals said you seemed to be a cool guy at first blush (quite young and inexperienced, but cool). (Sorry I missed you; I think if you met me, you'd be harder pressed to mouth off.) In any case, it seems you're trying really hard to prove them wrong...

P.S. I'm not getting all wound up. It's quite stimulating and enjoyable to shoot down blindly opinionated comments and insults born of frustration rather than fact. Well, that and it makes my work day go by so much faster.
