Rear wheel travel.

Hey, I am making a custom license plate holder for my 08 blade and was wondering what sort of clearance i should leave for maximum rear wheel travel. Any info would be good.

Well for the sake of not leaving your question without some kind of answer.

That's a really hard one to figure out as it would depend on your rear shock settings, your weight and if you ever have a pillion. Best advice I could give would be to have someone measure your clearance with you on the bike and then someone (preferably a carpenter, we are good at visually judging measurements, lol) follow you closely on another bike and judge how much it's compressing in use. Figure a margin for error and go with it.

Good Luck

Re: Rear wheel travel.

Thanks for your suggestions. I could have been more clear with my question. I did the measurements and there was quite a bit of clearance but i angled the license plate up a bit more just to be sure.
