09 fireblade ?!!

ok , so i've had mine for 1K miles now. time to tear into it a bit. ( putting on a speedo healer anyhow) . what is this on top of the air box? the ECU ? do i have to pull all the stuff on top to access the air breather? and i checked my speedo with my GPS it was spot on all the way up to 90 mph ! can this be true also? my last 2 bikes were about 10% off. just trying to learn this bike, had my head under Suzukis' for the last 4 years. thanks in advance, axlD.
