Re: 929 954 wiring diagrams

Couldn't find the diagram for European 954. Is it the same as US/Canada? There are three wires on my ignition switch - the red one, red-white and black-white, so I can't figure out what is that wire on diagrams in this topic)

Are you trying to address a problem with the bike?
Does the bike have HISS?

Re: 929 954 wiring diagrams

Problem was that ignition switch has been broken, so I thought to just replace it with a button or some kind of a switch (not for a key) while waiting for parts I've ordered. To do that I should know how to solder the wires. There were red, red-black, and BLACK-WHITE wires, that's what I've been triyng to figure out, about this BW wire, but it simply turned out to be not connected anywhere)))

For now, I have just opened ignition switch, pulled out the switching part (removed the lock) and now I can turn it on with a screwdriver or smth like this)
And yes, I have HISS on my bike so I just put the key to HISS when starting the bike.

P.S.: sorry guys if I can't explain smth right way, my English is quite poor) well, trying my best

P.P.S.: and sorry if I'm writing this in a wrong topic)

Re: 929 954 wiring diagrams

I need some help here. I bought a 2003 954 stunt bike. The wires under the tail were a mess. The harness that goes to the tail lights and everything in the back was only being used to power running lights. I cut out and now the bike wont start. Cranks but wont turn over. I cant hear the whine of the fuel pump so I.wired it straight to the battery on a toggle switch. I hear it.whine npw but still wont start. Can anyone offer any advice other than telling me not to cut anymore wires. I heard that one already.

What does the black wire do

Hi guys what does the black wire do which is coming out from the rectifier? i have a spare recti from the F4i and it doesn't has the black, can i connect the f4i recti and ground the black wire. Have a look at the diagram, black wire is the left most wire from the rectifier in the diagram.

NO DO NOT GROUND IT.

Follow the cct Diagram, that wire is supplied by the engine kill switch relay with +12v. It then in turn supplies lots of things with +12v .
If you ground it it's going to pop, or something else is!.

To me that suggests it is a 'on' switch for the R/R so if you had an R/R without that you wouldn't need it, but I'm not a Honda Bike electrician , just an electrician.

So better i order a new one with the proper black wire in place and have a peaceful sleep

Datatool 3 kept spiking. I've removed a few car immobilisers in my time as a mechanic so didn't think this job would be tough.
Was left with White with black tracer and dark green. Neither of which had obvious homes.
bike would turn over but not start.
Then saw on YouTube a cheat for said alarm, which was two use two paper clips and bridge 1to2 and 5to6 of one of the alarm block connectors. So I quickly re-wired in the alarm harness in to the loom and did the bridge trick. Bike fired up and ran fine. I then did a proper tidy up job of all the wiring and when I went to start the bike it would turn over but no spark and also the exhaust servo is not moving/doing anything. to simplify matters now once again removed the Datatool. So I am once again left with my old friends the White with black and also green.
I know through studying the diagram and doing testing, that the White with black is power and I know where on the diagram my loose end is, but it's nature of its location on the diagram that I don't understand ????? should be able to post a pic to explain what I mean. the green is an earth for something but what I don't know ? and I don't know if its running off to ground somewhere or running off to a working part of the electrics and should be just grounded at the loose end I've been left with.
The following is what I've tested,

Ignition down to fuse D then out and along white with black up to kill switch. Power out of kill switch. Also power from white with black to lean angle sensor. All good.
My left over loose end ( white with black ) that was wired to the alarm harness has good ignition fed 12v to it also.

All relays are working fine as far as I can tell in operation and as they are all the same have done multiple swap rounds with them pretty sure are all good.

Green wire left over from alarm harness removal is defo Earth and if you stick 12v down it, it blows Fuze D = ignition/start (no real surprise there)

Bike is now stripped down, tank off, air box, plug out (no spark)
Exhaust flap/power valve EXUP type thing is free and rotates fine.

SOMEONE, anyone got any advice on what to test next.

Oli

All sorted. Chip had gone in my key, so HISS wasn't recognising it. Been a big learning curve but would say I've got an answer for most questions re electrics on these looms now so anyone in need give me a shout.
