Chain and Sprocket help.

Like the title states, I need some help here. I've been bouncing around rear sprockets from the stock (43) up to 46 while still keeping it a 530. This was fine until I picked up a aftermarket set of Hi-point rims. The sprocket which came with these was a "Sprocket Specialist" aluminum with no hard anodizing that had been modified. I prefer the AFAM aluminum's with the hard anodize but have absolutely no idea which one. I would like to pick up one that has 45 teeth with a 80 mm bore, with the 6 bolt circle (10.5 mm thru holes) on a 104 mm diameter. When I look at their catalog it refer's to the bike mfg. and size and if you want a conversion kit what one to order. So, how do I go about addressing this situation. And I would not mind dropping chain size to 520 but how much weight will I actually save? And how many more chain adjustments will I need. Currently I do the initial, and then an occasional one now and then when I get bored. Will I have to babysit a 520 chain and sprocket set?

Will have to look through some catalogues but the early CBR600F has the 80mm bore and six-bolt pattern. You shouldn't have any trouble clamping one to the sprocket you have now and drilling the 10mm holes you need between the CBR holes.

You'll save about 1kg or one-third of the weight of the OEM steel sprockets and chain going to lightweight race-quality stuff.
No, you probably won't even notice a difference in chain wear.

In 530 you want ZX12R, early ZX7R, ZRX1200, early Z400/500/550/650/750 and early ZX9R.
For 520 sprockets you're looking for late ZX6R, ZR750, ER6n, ZXR400R or KLE650. Or 525 sprockets were used on the late ZX7R but I wouldn't recommend 525 as it has no advantages over 520 or 530.

Holes 10.5mm 6 of

I cut up ZX6R 520 sprockets and run them on my '85 GSXR750 as nobody makes 520 sprockets for it.
They're 87mm bore, PCD 110mm and 10.5mm holes 5 of so pretty simple to make from the ZX6R sprockets.

Your the man Bladeracer, exactly what I was looking for. My belief is you are track only but any idea what speed the 929 will be doing at redline (6th gear) with 15-45 (1 down 2 up)

Real quick clarification Bladeracer. Are you saying any of the 520 rear sprockets you listed will have 80 mm bore, 104 mm BC and 6 of at 10.5 mm?

Yep, that's the pattern of my '98/'99 ZX6R sprockets.

The engine speed is just percentages.

16/43 is 2.6875:1.
15/45 is 3.000:1.

Your engine speed will be 11.6% higher at the same road speeds.
Since the bike doesn't pull redline in top with stock gearing I doubt there'll be any loss in top speed - it should still be good for 170mph.
