Tried new 1000RR yesterday

Didnīt ride it, sorry, but I sat on it foor a long time
Bike was red and lower fairing was black (Euro colour). Production number was 16!!
Bike looked very good and that deep red colour was spot on.
Seating position was good for me (6ft3tall).
Distance from seat to handlebars felt better for me than in my 929. Seat to begs felt a bit more cramped than in 929. Upper part of the tank felt quite wide but lower part (between knees) was quite slim.
Bike was tied down on a transpotation bed so suspension was "tied down" too, so cannot tell anything about that.
One thing pissed me off though: seat sucks big time. It was as bad as it is in 929. Hard and no shape.
Got to get Corbin or Saregnt ASAP. I tried to sit on a new Kwak 1k and its seat was excellent! Honda should chance their seat manufacturer fast
General impression was that bike look a lot better when you actually see it.
It was real stunner. And Performance Bike test told us that there are no other complaints either. Seems like we have a winner here!

Almost sounds like you saw the same actual bike that I did. I'm almost positive of that. As for seat, it is track-optimized too. Like 954, the 1000RR has very hard seat, for easier movement and feedback on the track. Even Gix 1K has been critizised for having too soft for track usage. This bike is track-first, if you want to make it a tourer, install Corbin + Givi Other than that could not agree more with your impression, ordered mine yesterday...

Re: Tried new 1000RR yesterday

Am I the only one who doesn't understand why people complain about the seat on a bike that is made for the racetrack and just had enough equipment bolted on to make it street legal? You want comfort with performance, buy a VFR or XX. You want a track bike you can ride on the street buy a 1000RR.

Of course, I'm a mt biker, all MC seats feel plush to me.

Edit: Oops, read Ned's post, I'm not the only one.

Exactly...if you're in the twisties or on the track your moving around so much with your a$$ just barely touching the seat that it doesn't matter how hard the seat is...

Re: Tried new 1000RR yesterday

Hey guys, Kwak is a track tool too, isnīt it?!
It still has much better seat than RR has. Honda could do better with those seats.
Anyway, the bike looks just great and I bet it is a real joy to ride!!
I ordered mine 10mins ago. Mine is red.

Sure it is. But that just means that for track use, there's just one more thing you have to change. That's all.

BTW, about the bike you just ordered....YOU BASTARD!

Congrats Now join the celebratory dance of future CBR1000RR owners: I bet we have more dancers in May than Michael Jackson on tour.

Kwak/Gix 1K is a track tool too, but this does not change the fact that optimal track seat is not the best friend of you behind on the road trips...

Re: Tried new 1000RR yesterday

Ratter, you mf Just kidding.

Well, actually I did over 20000kms last summer less than 6 months on my 929 so I think you could call it touring.

I get my bikes for riding. You know, some just get them for showing off...

Re: Tried new 1000RR yesterday

I actually like the Honda seats as well, I also put allot of KM's on my bikes and do not mind the hard flat seat.

Re: Tried new 1000RR yesterday

What is your inseam; mine is 34 inches.

I've never ridden a 929, having gone from a VFR to the 954. Plan to trade for a 1000 if it fits.
