HONDA 954 GRINDING NOISE

Just noticed a grinding noise today from the bike when I had my kid out for spin, could only here it at slow speed r when I was slowing down , I put the bike up on stands and checked chain and sprockets seems ok when I put the bike in gear while on stands and reved it threw the gears letting the wheel spin and the drop off the accelartor ,there was no grinding noise so it only seems to have the noise when there is weight on the bike could it be a wheel bearing?

It wasn't making this noise before?
Is it only while you're braking on the front?

Do you still have the HTEV in your exhaust?

I would try loosening the chain adjusters a half turn and see if that helps.

Re: HONDA 954 GRINDING NOISE

I'm having a similar problem with my 900RR (except it happens when there's weight on the bike or not and when the engine is both running and off) and its sounding like a metal on metal grinding from the front wheel. Just replaced the wheel bearings and brake pads on both wheels hoping it would fix the issue. But alas, the grinding still remains. Any ideas?

Re: HONDA 954 GRINDING NOISE

Make sure the right spacer is on the right side. If your caliper is rubbing the rotor the spacers are swapped.

Re: HONDA 954 GRINDING NOISE

Have you adjusted/tightened the chain recently? Like mentioned before, back it off little more lube it up and check it again. It gets tighter when there is a load on it.

Re: HONDA 954 GRINDING NOISE

I had the same grinding noise and feeling a while back.it was alright when it was only me on the bike but when my fiancÚ was on the back the whole back vibrated then it was the worst!

Here is a link to my thread about how to fix it and what was wrong . . don't know if I am allowed to post link so just tell me and I will take it off.
