1997 Fireblade Engine "buzz"

Hi all. New to forum and this may have been posted previously.
I have a 1997 Fireblade and in the last few months it has developed a slight "buzz" most noticebly in 4,5 and 6th gear when cruising. It is most noticeable when not accelerating or decelerating but just in between.
I intend to have a look at the valve clearances, as I hace not done this since I bought the bike, but would just like to know if I'm on the right track, or if there is something else I should be aware of.

Cheers Crow

Is the buzz in the engine or the chassis?
Does it change with engine speed or road speed?

Re: 1997 Fireblade Engine "buzz"

Thanks for your interest bladeracer.
The buzz is definatly from the engine and it varies with rpm, not road speed.
Its not load, but noticeable to someone thats familiar with the bike. It doesn't happen on the side stand out of gear. Must be under transiant power, between load and noload.
