Stuck clutch lever bolt?

Riding home I noticed my clutch lever wasn't returning forward all the way. I could push it forward though and it would move into place. I'm trying to disassemble it now but the bolt won't come out.

I took the 10mm nut off the bottom, but the bolt will not thread out of the perch (I'm assuming it's threaded into the perch). I've tried tapping it with an impact driver and no luck. It will turn, just very hard to move, and the lever moves with it. I'm worried about stripping the head.

Am I missing something obvious? It doesn't appear to be reverse threaded and I thought they were all threaded into the perch.

Re: Stuck clutch lever bolt?

My bike did the exact same thing, noticed the clutch lever loose, tried to take the bolt out and couldnt. It is threaded into the perch, but i never was able to get it out...i had a spare perch lol.

Re: Stuck clutch lever bolt?

I had to order another perch off line when this happend to me last year after the cable broke, just get a new used perch. It will feel so much better without the lever flopping all over the place

Re: Stuck clutch lever bolt?

Yeah, I'm curious what happened. Don't know how the bolt/lever fused like this.

Anyway, I was able to back it off enough that it isn't binding anymore.

Re: Stuck clutch lever bolt?

Happened to me as well. I ended up spinning the bolt with a drill then using a hammer and punch to drive it out. I'm going to have a friend tig weld the hole in. Then I will drill and tap. I'll use anti seize when I reinstall the bolt. I hope it works....
