Need your thoughts on 08 CBR1000RR!

Hi guys,
Just acquired a new-to-me 08 CBR1000RR. Any tips or advice? I'm coming from my beloved 2000 929RR. What exhausts are worth the time and money without the bike becoming obnoxiously loud? Any good tweaks to the fuel injection or programming?

Thanks in advance!

Keep an eye on the oil level, some of them burned a bit.

Re: Need your thoughts on 08 CBR1000RR!

Yoshi, Scorpion and Arrow do good exhausts with an in-fill panel to cover the pipework underneath. An important consideration for me at the time.

As Des says, keep an eye on the oil level.

So many mods to do, you may have to do the ignition retard and tune to release the full power to a shackled US bike to get to Euro power spec.

FWIW my favourite mod was probably ASV levers, great feel and infinite adjustment.

Enjoy, they are great bikes.

Keep it as close to stock as you can unless you are going on the track, my 929 looks very close as it did when it was new, except frame sliders and braided cables---imho bikes look good the way they come off the showroom floor.
p.s. i too am thinking about getting the 1000rr, nice choice friend

Re: Need your thoughts on 08 CBR1000RR!

I like bikes when they have been modified.

Like my R6.. The only thing that people noticee is the exhaust, white pillion seat, and possibly my gas cap... Only the knowledgable people would notice the Ohlins rear shock, and the Ohlins caps on the fork.. That doesnt even cover everything

May as well make the bike the way you want it in the end. I think its a great feeling hopping on a bike that you have made the way you want it.

Never touched mine it had plenty of ooomph without wasting any more money. Would have liked to replace the exhaust with a taylormade though as the other makes spoil the whole look of the bike

I have a Leo Vince on my 08, just traded the bike for a 2011 Repsol so transferring the can onto the new bike, sound is awesome heads turn before I get there and thats the way I want it so people in cars can hear I'm on the road too.
