Stolen 98 Fireblade rebuild. Need help. Pics and questions

So finally I get to start on my rebuild of a stolen 98 fireblade I got for free. She's been sitting for 3-4 years, so the first task will be to start the engine and see if she is okay. I will do all the tuneup, see if fuel tank is rusted inside, carb cleaning, etc. The ignition has been punched so I will hotwire her to see if she can be fixed.

My question is

I found a 2000 929 from the wrecker, and there are alot of them lying around locally. Are the parts interexchangable? fairings, headlights, ignition, rims, front forks?

Here are some pics

Thats my baby daytona 675

Any help and suggestions will be awesome.. Thanx!

No, the 929 is a totally different bike.
'98 and '99 are the same bike.
Some '96/'97 parts will interchange.

No My friend gave it to me. It was stolen, recovered. He had no theft insurance on the bike and now cant afford to ride or restore so he gave it to me..

Im starting the dismantling of the fuel system today.

Do the rims from the 929 fit on the 900??

thanx

You can make almost any wheels fit but they won't go straight in.
The '98/'99 is the hardest Blade to fit a 17" front wheel to.

Thanx I will look into the rim change.

I managed to remove alot of the parts off. The carbuelater is off but doesn't look too bad, my friend did clean it before it got stolen. I never cleaned one before. Is it hard? any advice?
