Need coolant change help PLEASE - 08 CBR 1000
Running out of time and patience and need some help. Doing a track day tomorrow and need to change out my coolant. Never done it but have done tons of work over time so once I get started I know I can do it. I found this from another search:
Pull the right mid fairing and remove the radiator cap. Remove the drain bolt from the water pump on the lower left left side of the bike. Drain coolant into a pan. I always bump the motor over to get the remaining coolant out. You should also drain the reserve tank by pulling the siphon from the radiator. Replace the drain bolt and refill the radiator and reserve tank. Run the engine for a few minutes to open the thermostat. Shutdown and check the coolant level in the reserve tank. Careful where you dispose of the antifreeze. I recycle at the local Jiffy Lube (free).
Need help confirming a few things cause otherwise I'm gonna remove a wrong bolt or something. Is the drain bolt on the left side, bottom of what has the honda imprint on it? I started undoing it and it seemed like a really long screw and wasn't sure that was it. All my fairing are removed but things just arent jumping out at me of what to unscrew.
As quick follow up I found the initial drain plug. Its draining slowly. GuessI just need to figure out the reserve tank process. Any tips would be helpful.
