02-03 954rr

Hello, I've been looking to buy a 954rr blade. I've found many that are around 25k-30k miles. Is this too much for this bike? How long can I expect it to run for?

As long as it's been properly maintained that mileage is fine.
I would expect 120,000 miles at least before requiring an engine freshen up.

So not much compression loss at 30k?

Its all about how you ride it and how well you take care of it, mine has 24,000 and runs like a top, doesn't burn a drop of oil. My Yamaha FJ1200 had 124,000 on it when I sold it, it did burn a little oil, but with that mileage thats to be expected. I never did anything to the engine except oil and plugs, and I used to take it to the local strip on grudge night and make 4-5 11 second passes. You can ride hard and still not abuse the machine. How it was ridden is just as important, if not more, than how it was maintained. IMHO. I'm counting on Bladeracer to be correct, I hope to ride this one to 100,000. When you look at a bike, evaluate the owner as much as the bike, I've passed on a few "deals" based on my judgement of the owners, don't think I was wrong. Good luck with your search. To squid or not to squid, that is the question.

Very little as long as it's only been fed clean air, fuel and oil.
