Fuel Tank / Fuel pump seal
I've recently replaced the fuel pump assembly in my SP1 (thanks RC51) but am having all sorts of trouble getting it to seal properly - anything from a drip to a torrent pours out from around the assembly. It has the proper rubber seal etc, but no amount of tightening makes it seal.
A local mechanic has looked at it and reckons the hole in the tank is too big for the rubber seal. From what I can see, based on the line around the seal from it's previous tank (second hand fuel pump) it is the same size. Anyone know anything about this, or why it's so hard to seal? It's a carbon fibre tank - will this have any impact?
Also, is there a type of sealant I can use that will seal against fuel?
