For Sale: 1993 CBR900RRP FireBlade

K722 PLY is a 1992 built (1993 spec) original UK FireBlade registered on 5th January 1993. The frame number is SC28-2100019 (93 model year frame numbers started at 2100006) making this the 13th 1993 model FireBlade built and likely to be the oldest surviving RRP.

I have owned this FireBlade since 2016, the mileage is 42,215 miles, it’s currently on SORN and a new MOT will be carried out prior to sale. I have all the previous MOTs, the original Owner’s Manual, Service Book and service history. A major service was carried out at 35,662 miles by an independent dealer and a Honda main dealer service at 42,123 on 21 July 2018 and the Service Book is stamped up to this date.

The bike comes with the two original keys, the tool kit, an original UK 1993 RRP sales brochure and several period magazine road test reports from 1992/3.

Of typical Honda quality, it rides very well and the engine runs nicely. Metzeler Sportec M3 tyres with 4mm of tread are fitted. Goodridge brake hoses are fitted and the original brake hoses come with the bike. All the brake pads were replaced with EBC HH at 41,876 miles.

Two correctly stamped OE 92/93 spare exhaust cans come with the bike which have been resprayed in gloss black (correct finish). Front and rear paddock stands are also included in the sale.

This is an excellent example of a very early and well maintained FireBlade in original condition/bodywork and very good supporting history. I will be disappointed to sell it, but I am unable to ride it as often as I would like due to an old motocross injury to my right wrist which flares up every time I do, in fact I’ve only ridden it for 247 miles since 2016.

I've since bought a 76 Kawasaki Z900 and a 71 CB750 K1 for a more upright riding position - plus, with two cars in my garage there is a distinct lack of garage space.

It's been a tough decision Bill and one I've put off making for a while now. But 247 miles in almost 3 years is not fair on the Blade and someone else should be riding and enjoying it without the fear of a swollen wrist for three days afterwards.

I've bought myself another 'upright' in the form of a 1971 CB750 K1 'survivor' with 20k from new which is need of a little TLC, so the garage is pretty tight for space right now......

Cheers

Yep, really pleased it's going to a Gunk as I know he'll take good care of it which softens the disappointment of selling it.

Re: For Sale: 1993 CBR900RRP FireBlade

This is just weird, Gunk had a blade, and sold it. Andrew had an amazing rebuild as well, and buys an old Kawi. Sells it to a mate but ends up not finishing the deal or something like that. Now Gunk wants back into the group and buys Andrew's blade and now its just back to the way it was? What a conspiracy!

Just teasing guys, glad it worked out for each of you

Re: For Sale: 1993 CBR900RRP FireBlade

The weirdest thing about it was that I was just about to buy a Ducati 748SPS but I just wasn’t excited enough about it and was starting to have some buyers remorse. Then of the blue I dropped Andrew an email about his blade, he told me that he’d put it on the forum for sale the previous day and within 24 hours I’m buying it, you have to believe in fate!

Yes it was all a bit spooky Ian, like something out of the 'Twilight Zone' - you young uns will have to Google that!

Yep, still got the old Kwacker and before Christmas I bought a 1971 Honda CB750 K1 'survivor' with 20,000 miles from new - it's a Wisconsin bike in need of a little TLC. Photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/115740...57705414081225
