Re: Replacement Oil Sump Pan (CBR900RRX 1999 Fireblade)

Thank you! I'll certainly bear the that in mind.

After some effort browsing, I've managed to find a used (good condition) one in Lithuania, that I'm having shipped to me! Just need to figure out how to close the thread now...

Re: Replacement Oil Sump Pan (CBR900RRX 1999 Fireblade)

If in case you donít find a pan, the plug threads can be repaired with a Time-Sert. More stable than a Helicoil, it allows for better longevity.

If you research that youíll see they offer kits specifically for drain plugs. They are expensive (about $100 US), but are awesome if done right.

Take the oil pan off and do it on a bench though, as it needs to be drilled and installed dead nuts straight to allow proper plug washer sealing.

Replacement Oil Sump Pan (CBR900RRX 1999 Fireblade)

Edit: based in the Channel Islands (UK), but happy to discuss postage options.

Hi all,

Managed to strip the thread on my oil sump pan beyond recognition and looking to swap out the sump pan itself. I've found a few online that are imperfect (missing lugs). I'm looking for a used condition but intact with good quality sump plug thread.

If anyone has one, or knows of a breaking bike from which I can buy the pan, please let me know!
