Re: Pilot Sport usable life? I'd pull into the dealer or wherever you are going to get your tires changed and burn em' off until they are toast. Only if the said owner will allow it in his parking lot. |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? I tried to get two for one on my front P-Sport, but by the time my 2nd rear P-Sport was 1/2 -3/4 used up, my front was starting to feel really sad. I change both at the same time now. |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? Go ahead and dump them now for a set of Sportecs or Diablos. I had great luck with the Sportecs and so far, I really like the Diablos - they're a smooooooth set of tires. |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? Changed my rear at Deal's gap @ 1,600 miles. It wasn't quite down to the wear bars on the left side but close. The tire would not hook up as well, sliding a bit when exiting a corner. I like to keep my tires matched front and rear so I mounted a new Pilot rear and will change both when the front is gone. Generally prefer Bridgestone’s but may go with Metzler's for track days. |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? My OEM Pilot Sports are at 10,000km (6250miles) and need to be changed. The front looks used, but not dead, however it has ZERO grip left and the back is not down to the wear bars yet but the rubber is hard. I think about traction all the time now... |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? So do you replace just the rear or both front and rear? What if you changed to the sportecs or diablos? Just asking as I too will need a rear very soon. |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? I cant complain about the Pilots they have never given me any worries but this is my first year of track days so I may not be pushing them as hard as others would. Compared to the D207's I have run in the past they are awesome. Think I'll try some H2's for track days so I have something to compare to. |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? I got about 400 miles out of my stock Pilots....they sucked, so I took them off for a track day..... I gave them away.....they spent the rest of their sad existence on a stunt bike and are now in burnout heaven..... |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? Alex over at Dan Kyle's shop summed it up nicely: If you're even thinking about losing grip you should go ahead and replace your tires. Once your confidence is affected you won't ride as well. That was why I replaced my Sportecs when I did. |

Re: Pilot Sport usable life? The original Pilot Sports on my bike have 2500 miles and 3 track days with #4 coming up this w/e. The rear is about toasted but the front looks good. Should I replace the rear and keep using the front or replace both? I am concerned that the front may give out on me unexpectedly as far as grip. Thoughts? |
