Re: lightech sliders UPDATED WITH PICS

Hi,

I got those same frame sliders and like how they mount. I wish they were a little longer though.

Anyway, I want to confirm the torque specs for the engine bolts that hold the frame sliders in. Is it supposed to be 47ft-lbs?

Thank you

No problem Ay! (little Canadian comfort talk for you). Dont go out of your way on the bracket. The more I look at the picture the more I'm sure I can fab em without your help. Thanks for the offer though.

Re: lightech sliders UPDATED WITH PICS

Thanks Oldskool that is exactly the piece that I needed. I never thought of attaching it to the outside fairing, I was looking for something solid on the bike

As for what it is made of...I know that the slider is derilin but the actual material of the bracket...maybe it is steel? it felt lighter that what I thought it would be.

I am not much of an artist but I will see if I can do something about drawing and measuring them out. It is under allll of that plastic though Hppefully tomorrow after noon sometime?

Thanks again for the help

Yup, you got that right.

I installed a set about a month ago and am happy with them. I didn't have any parts left over however

<hijack> I also just installed a Scorpio SR-i500 alarm and that is one awesome unit </hijack>

Re: lightech sliders UPDATED WITH PICS

Here's some pictures...pardon the dirt as the bike maid is on vacation. It attaches to the bracket with the two holes just to the right and under the fan. The piece sits on the inside of the fairing. Hope that helps...if it doesnt you should probably sell the 1000RR and buy a "Gixxer"

Man I'll tell you what though...those frame sliders are the best looking/functional ones I've seen. I might just make a set of those brackets if I could get someone to maybe take down the dimensions for me?? maybe someone that I went allllll the way downstairs in the sunshine and perfect weather to take a few picutres for?? Are the brackets made of steel?

Re: lightech sliders UPDATED WITH PICS

I thought that peice was from that side, but I thought that I found it on the bottom some were? Pics would certainly help if you could

As for the chicken strips, its a street bike, not a track bike(you would not want me to speed would you )
New tires and lots of sand still on the roads...I like my bike and really dont see the need for binning it just trying to eliminate some unused rubber . give me till the summer and I will post up some pics, Honest...its not like I live in cali or something like that were I can ride all year round with out having to worry about frost heaves in the road or god forbid snow(must be nice I am sooo jealous)

Re: lightech sliders UPDATED WITH PICS

That piece looks like the black plastic insert that goes just inside the fairing on the bottom right hand side. It uses a few quick connect tabs...I'll see if I can get you a pic. I dont think you'll need those sliders though with those chicken strips you got you pussy (figured I'd jump on the band wagon)

Ain't that the truth, I could dump $35,000 into mine and it MAY be close to the way that I want it.

At least you will have custom paint
