You got the first name right. Last name, Namath. |

Re: Danica Patrick Well put. There aren't any physical attributes to men that give them any advantage in racing. (unlike say, hockey or football) In fact, don't most of the top-level roadracers have girlish physiques? |

Re: Danica Patrick I like Danica for how well she drives that car not for her looks. If she wants to push her looks also I'm fine with that, didn't joe theisman (I think it was him) do a panty hose ad? Sure its not F1 racing but she's gotta start somewhere, she's only 23 and she's a rookie in this league, perhaps she'll eventually move on to F1. I'd like to see her competing on the world level. While I have no problem with women competing with men (such as Annika in golf) there are womens leagues for those sports. While in motorsports there aren't any womens leagues and I don't think there should be. I think it should just be one league for all. Its not as if the physical differences between men and women make a difference when its the engine doing the work. A woman can train and have the same stamina and enough strength to drive a car as any man. Being able to bench 500lbs isn't gonna make you a better driver (or rider in motorcycling). A lot of motorcycling is motor skills and mental ability and just plain skill. |

Now, once again, let's look at golf. Annika has played on the PGA. (Let's leave the Hawiian Teeny Bopper out of this for now.) Should she be allowed to try to beat the guys?? If she wants, yes, but on another stage, not the PGA?? When they let men into the LPGA tour to compete, then she should be allowed to play with the boys. In racing, etc, there is no choice, in golf, basketball, etc, there are professional ladies leagues. Sorry for the slight Thread Jack, just making a point with an example from other sports. We actually had an interesting side effect occur due to some anti sexual discrimination laws here a while ago. For some reason legally clubs had to allow men to compete in women's lawn bowl comps. This did some screwy things to the results (namely a lot of male champions) and also caused a drop in participation (a lot of women ceased to compete). I think the law has been amended to grant an exception now, but it was bloody stupid for a while. I'm not sure what the best answer is for this kind of stuff or whether each sport needs different kinds of treatment. Now I just wish the cuter girls wouldnt go past me so quickly when lapping me at track days ![]() |

As for F1? She couldn't do a whole lot worse than the worthless JPM. ![]() ![]() Bush League! |

they're all faster, more talented and braver than YOU. And for the record, she MAY be faster than me but your Superbikegirl and I both have the same amount of AMA points this year (last time I checked, it may have changed recently). And I didn't even waste factory support money to do it. ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm all for women competing with the men. I applaud the Shirly Muldowney's, the mc drag racing woman, Michelle Wie, Danica Patrick etc etc. I just don't understand why all the leghumpers are getting their panties in a bunch when someone criticizes a woman competing. All I was pointing out was that she took out a few innocent drivers along the way and received WAY too much attention from the media. If some prettyboy backstreet boy got all the attention for finishing 4th, I'd have said the same thing. Someone actually WON the Danica 500. I'm not treating her as a "woman driver", I'm treating her as just another driver. After all, men and women are equal, RIGHT? ![]() |

And rather than being a "leg-humper", as you so quaintly put it, I'm more of an anti-misogynist. Unless you have your open wheel competition license and I just missed your times posted on bubble day. So let me know when your hero Montez beats whatever-her-name-is in AMA, and I'll send a check to the home for males suffering from female penis-envy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Said what needed to be said, and made me laugh. I wish it was the days of real drivers like Emerson Fittipaldi, Rick Mears, Andrettis, Unsers, Paul Tracy, Nigel Mansell, Jacque Villeneuve again. She is CERTAINLY @ the top of one of the US leagues that presently exists, but the leghumpers were definitely out the past 3 weeks. 4th place wasn't too bad considering there was only 16 cars running when the race ended and ONLY 9 were on the lead lap. She can even take credit for knocking a few of those cars outta the race.

Re: Danica Patrick Warthog, a little of both agreement and disagreement with your post. I believe the coverage she's getting for her looks is bad. Yes, she's pretty. Does that help her drive fast?? hardly, but because of all the so-called "Leg-humpers", her looks sell tickets. Let's look at other sports and females. Look at Natilie Gulbis in golf. Anybody who knows jack sheet about golf knows she's a hell of a looker, but how many people know she's 8th on the LPGA money list this year, is 6th on scoring average and leads in birdies?? There are lots of other lookers in the LPGA and the Futures Tours. That's only one sport where looks and skin sell tickets, what about basically all other sports where females compete? You'll see the same thing. Now, in regards to being the "Best in the world" at her sport, I agree, but only partially. If any woman thinks she can beat the men, go for it, in any sport. I don't think there's a "female only" racing league or series, certainly not as high up as Danica is right now. Look back at Cha Cha Muldowney in drag racing. Same thing, she had to race against the guys. Now, once again, let's look at golf. Annika has played on the PGA. (Let's leave the Hawiian Teeny Bopper out of this for now.) Should she be allowed to try to beat the guys?? If she wants, yes, but on another stage, not the PGA??
