Thanks! yeah it's a really nice 3D texture to mimic carbon fiber weave, very high quality since it's held up well for the last year and still looks great.

A local Guy named Tom Eder did it for me since sewing and such is something that takes years of experience to do right.

He ordered it. Not sure where. I can Message him on Facebook if you want. His shop is called "Seats by Bonez"

He charges like $100 for a front and $75 for a rear seat if you choose to use him.

Here's a few pics of the tail on the bike. I still need to make some adjustments with the undertail and think up a better idea for rear blinkers instead of rope LEDs lol.

I put some red LED brake lights in the tail so when I press the brakes it'll illuminate me while riding (at night) and it looks good.

Then took it on a fundraiser ride for St. Jude Children's hospital. 550miles of sport biking fun

I also started making the undertail so I could get out and ride now between working on the bike:

and I'm also working on the plate retractor for bike nights and while parked... (not for running from cops!)

Re: 06 1000rr tail on 929 mod

So a little update.

I plastic welded in the rr vents and did all the body work (not pictured):

I painted the modified 1KR tail... here's the how to:https://www.fireblades.org/forums/art...-graphics.html

Here's some pics... it's in horrific need of wet sanding the clear, but I'm happy with the results.

I still have to wet sand and buff to get the egg shell texture off

Working on getting the undertail done so then I can get out and ride soon. Really want to find a way to hook up a motorized license plate retractor for when I'm parked. Learned a lot about it from the car forums in reference to motorized car antena motors, electric door lock actuators, etc.

wow looking good man!
only thing is i think you should see how it fits on someone elses bike!
ill volenteer and i promise ill send it back . . . honest!
seriously though top work! the rear lets the bike down from standard but that makes me think about keeping my 929 and doing this now!

Re: 06 1000rr tail on 929 mod

Thanks! Bruce was excited to plan a paint scheme so I figured why not.

But before I paint this I need to make the battery tray and make it work wth the tail.

Then I have to modify my 929 passenger seat that is like 2 inches too long also.

THEN I can paint... I want to add the classic 929rr on it to retain the stock look:
