Re: 02 954rr winter refresh

I think a lot of the main harness runs through the right side of the bike. The upper-fairing-electronics loom connector is just behind the right blinker where the lower and upper connect. I would start by going in there and checking everything out. As Ian said, might just be a loose connection there. Also check individual wires by pushing them into the connector, I've had different pins start to back out like this before (one of which was my right turn signal actually).

I did run into one problem today coming home. ..I was moving the blinker wires on the left side and next thing I know my tach, speedo, rpms, temp level all went blank. The blinkers show and the brights show but the neutral light doesn't. Any ideas?
Loose connection somewhere??

I'm not sure that this is Core's standard 954 set-up as this was one of the very few things that was not stock on the bike when I bought it.

I'm likely going to do away with this set-up for different colours, plus Core now does swivel ends instead of fixed position, which should allow much more freedom in installation.
Ahhhh, ok. That sounds better than what I thought. Maybe the PO had some spare lines kicking around and used them. Just curious, bottom line is if they work with no issues then you're all set.

Congrats on your buy. I too eyed this bike for years before I could afford one. The pipe is an Erion Racing pipe, cut approximately in half with a hacksaw, some of the packing taken out,re - riveted, and powder coated matte black. The mid pipe is also ceramic coated matte. The short pipe is just preference. Sounds awesome. .. like the Hulk gargling lol

And Da, bike looks good, glad the brake bleed worked out. Did you get the Mytivac system or just change the master out? Get those last bits on like TURN SIGNALS lol don't want you to get waffled so soon after getting on the road. Do you have any good pics of your calipers? I just took a set of 99's apart and getting them done in gold (they're silver now). Wondering how you drove home the areas to NOT powder coat.

I'm definitely keeping the colors as is. Next year I'll do the valve adjustment and fairings joker style. Someone on here was selling braided lines and I bought em so I gotta stick to the plain for now. They were only $35.

rear line, not too terrible

A shot with the upper off, contrasts terrible with the red... unless you're doing a spider-man theme....

Re: 02 954rr winter refresh

Oh and by the way- Core Moto (coremoto.com) offers up nylon coated stainless-braided brake lines in a big variety of colour options for the lines/fittings/boots.... I believe they're only around $130 for a full set (2 front 1 rear). Might be something for consideration in the future. Mines are blue with red ends... sets them apart from all the black and red, but now I think it just looks off and am likely going to change them to match better.

Re: 02 954rr winter refresh

Did you remember to tighten the chain?!?!?!?! Important stuff there, it was mildly loose last time I saw it =P

Glad you got her up and going! I didn't check in on this thread for like a week and you finished it.... looks great too!

HOWEVER, those rims are still much too bright =) I take back my dark green idea completely to boot. I would say go black on them to balance out the calipers' purple, and hit the middle section of the rotors with the purple as well. Would look completely coordinated and even more bad-ass than it already does. I thought the purple would be.... interesting (think limp-wristed lol), but it came out really good.
