Sorry FB90096, but the Ebay seller is WRONG. I had a vacuum operated on my RRP (93) SC28. That fuel tank was a different shape than the SC33 tanks, as well as the outlet being a bit different (it shortened the amount of reserve available), but the petcock still threaded on and operated perfectly.

The SC33 tanks as I said before are all the same 96-99, and used the same fuel valve for all those years. Also Partzilla, when choosing the petcock for the 97, lists it as the same available part number for 96-99.

The earlier 92-95 petcocks will work on yours as well, but as stated the reserve may actually be a bit MORE and you'll be switching to reserve sooner than you would with the proper petcock. The copper tube that the filter screen connects to is longer I believe on the older bikes because of the larger shape of the fuel tank.

The bottom line here is don't always trust what fleabayers say.

As still cant get them apart ...should they just pull apart??? ..or a.spring needs to be unhooked cheers
Nothing needs to be removed as far as springs go, they will just come off. It's probably the dowels that are seized together. If you have all the other rubber parts disconnected give it a little heat where the dowels are.

Re: 99 900rr carb splitting help

Look at my Cafe thread in my signature. Tons of photos on my carb dissasembly. But as far as splitting them, there are 2 rods that run the length of the 4 carbs. You'll have to pull them out before you can split them as there are dowel pins as well. Just be careful, as when you finally get them apart the springs will fly everywhere. Here's a pic:
