Re: HELP! Turn Signal Flash Rate....

Installed the signalminder using the turn signal option but no brake option. Connecting brake light required a separate wire, which i will install later. Notes: the blink rate is DOT(LEDs in the rear, bulbs in front), the first blink hesitates & stays on longer then the rest, definitely need to install return springs - goofy things happen, like after a turn times out that side lights stay on less bright untill the turn signal switch cancel is pressed. Running lights in the back? Hm, it looks nice but still makes you stand out because they are amber, everyone else's ass is red. Finally, both turn signal dash indicators stay dimly lit at all times. It is not a major thing, unless you like the look of a clean dash.

Will install return springs and connect a brake option but will disconnect a running lights option.

Re: HELP! Turn Signal Flash Rate....

I think you should go ahead and give the option of just a brake light connection a try first.

How close is 929's electrical system to 1000rr? i found a post for 929 while looking for a 1000.
you don't have to install the running light option (that little 3 wire connector that came with the signal minder and plugs into it).

no idea how similar they are as I've only had experience with the 929. I can't imagine it being all that much different though.

Has anyone attempted a sucessfull Signalminder installation on a 2005 cbr1000rr?
The site doesn't list the CBR1000RR but I'm guessing its the SM3 which is for most Hondas. You only have to attach the ground wire if you don't have 3 wires going into your relay. if you have to use the ground just find any bolt that goes into the frame.

I had all the options hooked up on my old bike (I'll probably install it in the new bike tomorrow). Its a pretty sweet device. I'm not sure if you're going to hook up any of the options but I say atleast do the brake interlock option.

Re: HELP! Turn Signal Flash Rate....

When I did this on my 636, that is exactly what I did.... just removed the stock relay and replaced it with an electronic one.

Re: HELP! Turn Signal Flash Rate....

TraumaOne,

Would I replace my existing flash relay with that unit?

Re: HELP! Turn Signal Flash Rate....

And personally I would go with an electronic relay, not a resistor... no heat that way...

Re: HELP! Turn Signal Flash Rate....

Nope... but I have tried the $5 option and bought an electronic relay from autozone... I had to do my own soldering, but it was easy enough to do...
