I sort of "stick" to/on the bike with hands on the tank only, using my elbows for additional "grip" on the rider and my knees on the bike. Worked fine, even when he rode like a deranged hornet!
Tho some might think it crazy, its very little "discomfort" for the pilot....

You always got the strap across the seat they can grab onto.
