Re: Difference between 900RR & 929?

The 929cc (model sc44), is known as a cbr900rr in my country, for registration purposes, but the street name is cbr929, same with the cbr954.

Re: Difference between 900RR & 929?

we just said the same thing, almost.

"If they were both RR values..." (they're not. 929 is RRY... much better. )
"not like terms" (that's what I said, you have 2 variables, RR and X, and because of the RR you do not have like terms.)

Ok... we've beaten this horse dead. Twice.

929 - 900RR= X ; where X is the difference.
You now have a 2 variable equation and therefore cannot solve for X without more information. However, keep in mind that the 929 is properly called the 929RRY so if we rewrite the equation it is
929RRY - 900RR = X
900RR(1.0322Y - 1)=X
Since we all know that there were a great number of differences added to the "Y" edition Fireblade Y must be very large. We can say that for a sufficiently large Y value, the difference approaches infinity while RR > 0.

BTW, did you hear about the constipated mathematician? He worked it out with a pencil.
Negatory good buddy: We were both wrong cause' I was just trying to be funny... In reality it would simply be comparing the terms "900RR" and "929" until we set a value for RR. If they were both RR values it would be (equal to positive 29RR) provided we changed "difference bewtween" to "difference of" and the symbol "&" to "subtracted from", making it a subtraction problem. As it is it would be an "Absolute Value problem (one that cant be solved) if we made 929 an RR value as well we could solve it as listed, then it would simply be 29 units of RR from 900RR. . But as the title says "Difference (minus) between (comparing) 900RR & 929. This cant be done as they are not like terms. Unlike terms cant be combined.

Sorry to get all "mathlete" on you but that's the exciting world of math and I'm sad to admit that was a little fun...god I'm boring

Re: Difference between 900RR & 929?

Over here in the UK there are plenty of 900rr's registered in 2000. Frame number is the best way of checking.
The "new" blade with fuel injection that was launched in 2000 starts with a frame number of SC44A and over here it's known as the RRY

+1. I have the same bike and the frame tag says 900. BFD, I know its a 2000 929RR. Besides that fact that the 2000 is a clean sheet redesign from the 900RRs.
