I would call it the motor. Goto a junkyard and get a "new" one. Damn things are expensive.

Re: electric window rollup problem

If the glass is not binding in the window seal (also acts as a guide) and the window regualtor isn't broken, then the problem most likely is the motor its self possibly starting to seize.

Re: electric window rollup problem

Up uses more power. Likely the motor is going or the regulator (and it is binding) Either leave it up or be prepared to have it fixed soon. The delay is either a motor cooling or the regulator binding and it relaxes with a delay.

electric window rollup problem

On our 96 chevy astrovan the drivers side window is doing some weird things.
When we roll the window down, it goes down fine. When we roll the window up, it goes about 3 inches then stops. if you wait for about 30 secs, it will go up about 1/2-1 inch. if you wait one minute it will go up 2 inches. 2 minutes, will go up 3 inches and so on. its like its on a timer circuit. what the hell would do this? I am at a loss as to what is it. any help would be greatly apprecaiated.
