Really can't tell you as I've only got about 60 miles on them. No trouble slowing down whatsoever though. This is the first time I've ever used HH pads and they definitely bite harder than OEM, from the very beginning. I really couldn't tell you if they'll have more stopping power or not at this point.

+1. Swapped front and rear a few weeks ago (still had plenty of pad on the rear but did it just cuz) at 16k+. Mine had about 9k miles in Germany with lots of autobahn and several Alps trips and a few track days on them.

I'm also heavy on the front brakes. (Yes, I'm leaving that comment open just to see what comes up.)

I learned my lesson though, next time i'm going with OEM pads, perhaps thats the difference??? What pads are you running nd4sp?
HH pads.

Re: How many miles do you get out of your brake pads?

A few posts up, Lucid wrote that his didn't bite for the first 100 miles. I was referring to that. I've never experience it, but I don't want it to be going through my mind when I pull the lever trying to slow from down from 140mph or so (never ridden Reno-Fernley, but it looks like I could be hitting 150 on the straight).

Thanks for the advice, I'll go ahead and replace the pads at the same time.

I don't know where you got this 100 mile lag thing from.

Yes, you should clean your rotors when you change pads. Put a few laps on the rotors, clean them again and scuff the pads up a bit too with the same pad or with a wire brush, then do a few more laps. By that time they should be good to go.

That's when you change your pads, right? Will that eliminate the 100 mile lag until they give good bite?

Guess it may be time to replace them.
Yea, well, I like to brake as hard as possible sometimes. It's good practice for when i'm really gonna need to stop in a hurry or get hurt. (no endo's either, I wonder how fast stunnas brakes go out???)

Re: How many miles do you get out of your brake pads?

I would yes, When I recently replaced my pads it took about a good 100 miles before they really started to bite. I would worry about grooving my rotors with heavy braking on uneven pads. Then again, I'm not a track rider so a second opinion would be a good idea.

Re: How many miles do you get out of your brake pads?

Sorry, about to threadjack, sort of:

My pads look like they have probably 40-50% left, but my lever is squishy. I think I may have boiled my fluid last track day. I was just going to replace the fluid and leave the pads. Is that a good idea? I read that when you replace pads, you need to put some miles on them before doing a track day. I have two track days next week and thought it may not be a good idea to change the pads prior to them. Any thoughts?

Re: How many miles do you get out of your brake pads?

Almost 10k miles in <1 year, last time someone looked at them they told me I should think about replacement so I bought a couple sets to go on at the next service this month.

Re: How many miles do you get out of your brake pads?

That'll depend on your style of riding. Personally I would replace them just because they're 4yrs old. While you're in there do at least the brake fluid, but if you're so inclined do stainless lines as well.

I got 12000+ on the RR and they are excellant. Though I don't use the brakes a ton on the street.
