..oh, and ND, I agree, get out of the Focus. From people I know, nothing but headaches and problems. Peace of mind has no price.

They may be fun to drive, as long as they are running.
That's because owners can't find the battery for a jump, when they die..ask him.

I'm not suggesting this one in particular but I've been thinking of getting something like this and I think it would fit some of your needs...

It's still plastic, but since its 'sport-subtle utility' it looks more like home.

On the Civic it's not gaudy, I dig the interior..just don't like the black interior anymore.

This is a known tactic though. Dealerships are very good at getting your keys out of you, and holding them.

It makes it harder for you to get up and leave.

When I decided to leave and had waited a few minutes for my keys...I told them if I didn't get my keys back immediately it was a theft. Somehow my keys were produced in short order.

A "go no go" offer doesn't lead to the lowest price in my experience. But it is a less tiring way of doing it.

a couple years ago a dealer around here got into some trouble for taking keys. I'm not sure how they got the people to give up their keys but I don't think it was for them to check the trade in. you walked in and they pretty much asked for your keys right away. They would take the keys and throw them on the roof.

I'd go with a new civic (the new styling is growing on me anyway), a used accord or a camry...

Re: Need me a car...

My wife pitted all the internet sales guys against each other until we got a deal no-one would beat which was the first offer from this other Infinity dealer. Was something like invoice price out the door. She got a base G35 for less than I thought possible.

The Honda dealer was a bastard trying to keep us there and I refused that my commuter was going to be a loaded accord. Wouldnt you know that as soon as it turned into a better car it became her commuter?

Anyhow Honda cars have soured me, Ford is ok but worthless for retaining value, Toyota?? check the threads.. GMC cars have issues with my family. What is left?

Re: Need me a car...

Just thought of another car. VW Jetta (or Golf) wagon, especially if you can hunt down one of the coveted diesel versions, are great reliable cars with good gas mileage.
