Re: chain question

Yeah, you can wire it in the grooves there for the lock thingy.
Here are a couple decent tools:
Just a press/rivet tool:
Cal-Sportbike >>> Speedo Healer, Galfer Brakes, Gear Indicator Pro, Elka Suspension, Shogun Sliders.
Complete chain tool:

Re: chain question

Yeah, now I know. Where could I get the tool to install the rivet type? About how much are those little buggers?

Re: chain question

I've had a "lock" come off a chain the first session it was on the track.
If you go with that style chain, just toss that crappy little thing and safety wire the link instead, then put some red silicon goo over it.

But the better thing to do is just use a rivet master link.

Re: chain question

Wow, I put this tread up this morning, go get the bike(its kinda warm today) for lunch, I get back to work and low and behold the freaking lock on the master link is gone! WTF! What a wierd series of events. This has never happened to me before, the link is pressed as far as it will go? Why the hell did it fly off? I guess at least the rivets ones don't fly off. Damn!

Re: chain question

Rivet is going to be stronger but their really isn't anything wrong with the locking ones in my opinion.

chain question

WHich do you guys/ gals think is a better master link, the rivet type or the locking type? I have done plenty locking ones in the past but my new chain came with the rivet type so I am just curious? Thanks
