Re: Tire choices which are best?

I just put Pilot Powers on my ride and I was told I'd be change tyres on my next oil change. It's good to know that some got over 6K miles on them... my pocket doesn't feel so violated know. I'm used o get 12K+ on cruiser bikes.

Re: Tire choices which are best?

I've heard Pilot Power is the best street tire ever. Metzelers M3's feel loose/greasy once hot.

Re: Tire choices which are best?

if i only had some stock in Metz ..hehe
i was not so happy with the diablo on the front and diablo corsa on the rear so when i first put the m3 ...what a diffffffffffference on my blade!!!

the next time i will mount the front m3 and rennsport on the rear seen that i have a good price on it, it resembles a slick, more sporty

how much do you pay for your tires where you live?

here: 240 for M3
180 for rennsport
240 diablo corsa III
240 pilot power
205 metz M1
260 power 2CT
all prices mounting included

few riders use dunlops and bridgestone (not so appreciated around here (Italy), considered inferior from a price/quality point of view)

as long as you find these tires on the market dont even think about changing to a 17" front wheel
I am starting to think imac owns stock in Metzeler. BTW, I've checked a few sites here in the US..... apparently Metz doesnt love us very much because they dont offer a 16" for mid-late 90's Blade riders. I liked their Z6 for my rear and M1? for the front though

Stoney.... obviously your choices are limited with that front tire. the 014's are pretty good, so are the Metz (M1???) I had on there for the track. I am a slowpoke (intermediate groups) but I've never doubted my tires. After watching Days of Thunder I convince myself that I have warmed up slicks (matched tires) on at all time

If you're only riding the street I'd say go with those two... as long as your doing sane speeds on the streets you shouldnt need anything more. I'd use BT020's for the street if the rim size permitted.

Re: Tire choices which are best?

i have run dunlop, bridgestone and now i run the metzlers, i got a good deal on a set of m1 and i like them good stick and handling, i plan on going with the m3 when these are worn out. the downfall to the m1 is they wear out quicker then the m3.

Re: Tire choices which are best?

we are a little bit OT here since only Metzler makes a really good 16" tire with the sportec M3

about the conti sport attack, i've tried them on my first zx6r and i was impressed with the grip and lean angle. very easy to lean over. very good on water too seen that i use the bike every day, sun or rain, and i've tried to put them under stress, hard breaking and acceleration under water without problems.
you can find them at a good price, 200euros mounted around here. i got 8000 km from my rear tire

to return ON Topic
take my advice and try the M3 (latest technology from metzler) and you will not be disappointed

Re: Tire choices which are best?

I absolutely agree with you 187. I purchased Bridgestone's because they were usually the cheaper set against the Dunlop or Michelin brands. Continental have never really put a Supersport tire out (they had the Conti-Force Max which wasn't exactly a great tire per se) so these two products they're putting out should help them along. Let us know how they are on the 929. Bike mags can be a little interesting when they say it's "close" to the Pilot Powers or Diablo's so a real world riding assessment is always best.

Re: Tire choices which are best?

They have the sport attacks for the supersport bikes and they have a road attack version that is a road touring tire. I bought the sport attacks and they are pretty soft but Its winter here and I just got them not too long ago and we had a blizzard over the weekend so it wont be going anywhere anytime soon. All the reviews and testimonials were positive for the sport attacks that I decided to try them. + if they perform as well as good as they have been made out to be. THen I can have 2 rear tires and a front for about $20 more than 1 pair of pilot powers. The hard part of the decision was that they just came out in the middle of last summer so they're not all that popular yet.

Re: Tire choices which are best?

Go Qualifier or Power Pilot. Stick like glue. I know I've used both and they get about 7-8K miles
