Re: Knutsford Honda Motorcycle Dealer - Never going there again!

^ Well you wont get the chance now.

Knutsford Honda Have Gone Bust!!!

Yes its about 2 years or so since they started and I think they have ceased trading because of the high standards that are demanded by most Honda riders, they just couldnt do a good enough job. Unlike Hunts Honda in Manchester who are Fantastic but busy, and now even busier.

Thanks to everyone for supporting this campaign and removing the chance for Knutsford Honda to make a mess out of any more new and unsuspecting customers

Re: Knutsford Honda Motorcycle Dealer - Never going there again!

I had booked my CB500 in for service at Knutsford before I saw this thread. Unfortunately, I think I only found it they day before the service date, so it was a bit too late to cancel. As it was only a 12,000 mile service and nothing major, I wasn't overly-concerned and as it's been over a year since this has been updated, I thought maybe they've got new staff or have improved their service.

However, I did tell myself to be fair to everyone I would post my experience...

I made an email enquiry in the evening and got a call from 'Paul' the next day. Booked it in. I'm pleased to say that all of my emails were replied to promptly. I advised that I'd just changed the oil and filter and one or two items that didn't need doing and he reduced the price accordingly. I dropped it off to him in the morning and after having reading what happened on here, I asked him to come out and look over the bike with me, which he was happy to do. We agreed on a few scuffs etc. No problem.

I also mentioned an ongoing intermittent issue I had with the coolant spilling out and fan sometimes not kicking in. I suspected it MIGHT need a new rad cap, which he said was unlikely as he'd only ever had to replace two in about 28 years. (I've heard that from other dealers and garages too).

He emailed back later saying that the problem was fixed (airlock AND faulty rad cap). Apparently the oil was slightly low (bit surprised as I thought I'd measured it accurately). I was also told the filter was only hand tight (that bit didn't surprise me - I tightened it by hand).

I knew my front pads were low. I had a spare pair of EBC's under my seat which they fitted for me.

The bike was ready on Monday, but I was unable to collect it until this evening. They were fine with me leaving it there an extra night.

I asked a colleague from work to drop me off and for some infuriating reason, he felt the need to do no more than 50mph along the M56 and M6, despite the late hour. This meant we arrived bang-on at 5:30. I cannot tell you how mad I was, but it was a free lift after all....

Paul had already shut up shop, but kindly went out the back and brought my bike out for me and also gave me a few minutes inside to get into my biking clobber.

Bike ran nicely on the way home. Idled it for a while when I got back and the fan kicked in. I'll monitor that over the next few trips to see if it is finally working again. I'll be thrilled if it is.

Apologies for the lengthy post, but I thought it was only fair to give an honest report of my experience with them.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the service and would use them again.

Hope this helps.

might as well bump this and make sure bad bike shops dont get bushiness. too many good bike shops going under or laying off workers do to a slow economy. no need to keep the tards employed and messing up bikes.....

Knutford honda are new, so i wanted to give them a chance, but they were obnoctious and incompetant at the same time. They know nothing about their bikes, pro's or con's, and they dont care.

I just hope knutsford honda arent still messing up peoples bikes

Sorry, I hadn't realised you'd come to that conclusion. If he's like that then maybe he's rrurbantiger himself ;-)

I just noticed that if I say rrurbantiger out loud I sound like Scooby Doo :-)

After a short communication with Eric the owner i had to cut my losses, i knew i wasnt going to get anywhere with them. Even Honda UK stated that their franchises are under no obligation to use trained mechanics and anything they do is no responsibility of honda UK, unless its under warranty.

Hunts Honda manchester is the complete opposite, i took my gsxr600 there for its MOT and after it passed they gave me a list of things that only just passed and might need repairing before the next MOT, like head bearings etc. Thats a proper service, but they are mad busy.

I laughed so much when I found out that Northwich show he mentioned was a Knutsford Honda event.

After everything I honestly wish that Knustford Honda could show us they are working as a reputable store now. After all thats why they have done this Northwich event, publicity.

If I were the owner of the shop I would greatly appreciate having this moron brought to my attention so I could sack him. He isn't doing them any favours with this childish rubbish.
