The one lesson everyone here can learn is: Always fund any Paypal purchase with a Credit Card.

With a little effort, you could polish the lips and nobody will ever know and your bike has a little added flair

Sounds like a real internet tough guy to me.
Probably can't get money back from paypal unless they've changed their buyr protection program, , you hafta buy off of ebay to get the protection since ebay bought them.

I told him to mummify them in saran/stretch wrap one layer, then padding, then more wrap. He did an excellent job of wrapping them up cocoon style. Even used blankets and those corrugated padded window reflective shades for your car window to wrap around them and then each rim was separated from the other with a center divider. So no it was not done in transit, they had to be like that when he wrapped them up to ship them.

Do we know for sure that the wheels were damaged BEFORE he shipped them? If they were packaged like the 1st pic you posted then I can see that happening during shipment.

Re: I got Lied to, Ripped Off, and dont want you to be

Just thought i would update you guys on this situation.

I tried to go to paypal, but since the money was sent as a gift and not as a purchase for good they will do nothing. It cost more to send it as payment for goods i learned but then you can file a dispute and mabey just mabey they will actually help you, but im out of luck on that one.

LESSON LEARNED: always select the box maked payment for goods on Paypal.

LESSON LEARNED: Get detailed pictures or do not buy over the internet with someone you don't know. And always do an internet search for their name and address where you will send payment. Had i done this i would have found threads and bad mojo about this guy.

LESSON LEARNED: Always use a third party trustee if possible.

Hope you all have a happy holiday, and get building as summer is coming

Re: I got Lied to, Ripped Off, and dont want you to be

Small claims court typically handles these disputes, usually up to $2,000 or $3,000, but laws are state dependent. Lots of places don't require or somtimes, even allow attorneys to be involved in small claims. If the US postal service was used to ship the items, the postal inspecters will get involved, if contacted. It seems like a bit of over-kill.

I would certainly try the Pay-Pal route first, but there options. BTW, you don't need to be present in court to defend yourself, in this type of case. You simply contact an attorney, close to where the charges are filed, and give him/her all the paperwork.

Also, even if a judgement is won, there are other steps necessary to actually collect on it. If you win, at that point, you at lease have the option for a lein or something.

I recently had an out of state lawsuit and it ended up being cheaper to lose than to travel, or pay an attorney to show up with "all" of the contract paperwork, and not just what was supplied by the plaintiff. :-(
