Re: Newbie question

Gloves under the rear seat (in the trunk). Helmet chin strap D-ring run through the hook under the rear seat and locked in when the seat closes. Wear/ carry the jacket and walk in the boots.

Re: Newbie question

I've not had a problem with wearing full gear so far. At work, I just stack my gear up on a spare chair. I don't usually ride to places that I am going to do a lot of wandering about so it's not reallly a problem for me. I guess it depends where you're going.

If I had to wear jeans, I would use something like Draggin Jeans that at least offer a little protection.

Most of the people I know who use their bikes as their main form of transport have something a bit more practical than a Blade - e.g. a BMW GS which has panniers fitted. They can stash all of their gear in those.

Re: Newbie question

ya i guess it depends on the riding ur planning on doing...if ur going out to have FUN...wear the right stuff...nice leather pants and jacket...riding boots...and a quality helmet...if ur going to be cautious and drive slow and your not worried about traffic then i think it is OK to wear jeans, riding jacket and some good shoes or boots.....never wear open toe shoes or sandals...never wear a tee shirt...unless ur just going around the block(LITERALLY ONLY AROUND THE BLOCK) and just always have it in the back of ur mind when ur getting ready that when you hit the asphalt, what is going to be between your skin and the road

Re: Newbie question

i'm pretty much the same as spina. find boots you can walk around in and plan on carrying your helmet and jacket. i've used a cable and lock intended to protect your bike and run it through my jacket and helmet before. not always the best idea and that depends more on my environment and the weather than anything else, but i normally plan on carrying it with me.

Re: Newbie question

Try to find some comfortable riding boots, this way you don't need to worry about shoes, I ride in jeans most of the time(I know I'm gonna catch some static from that one) usually I only have my helmet, gloves(which I stick inside my helmet), and jacket to worry about. You can always carry a backpack too, but thats a pain in the arse.

Newbie question

I am trying to do this right, with all the right gear, but where do you store all this stuff when you reach your destination? Do you carry a change of clothes with you everywhere or just walking around in the riding pants and shoes?
