I had ground clearance issues with my 954 when I only lowered the front. I raised the forks 8mm in the triples, and I was scraping the stator cover on the track. My forks have been re-valved, and re-sprung. Running a stock shock, however.

I since have raised the rear (I think 6mm), and adjusted the forks to be only 4mm different than stock. Haven't scraped the engine cover since, and the bike still turns-in quite nicely.

When you start jacking the suspension around, I would suggest beginning with raising the rear before dropping the front. If raising the rear doesn't give enough of the desired effect you're looking for..., then drop the front.

If you're bottoming like that you definitely need to tweak your suspension settings.

I never had any problems. The GMD guy raised the forks a bit more than I did as well. He did raise the rear of the bike too and both ends have the RIGHT springs for the bike/me combo. You guys running stock front springs, time to get the right ones for you.
