I'm 83, and I'm tired

I don't know or care if Bill Cosby actually said it. The sentiment is SO true.

------------------------------------

Bill Cosby "I'm 83 and Tired"

"I'm 83 and I'm Tired"

I'm 83. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National
Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some serious
health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly
40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my
income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as
though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who
don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take
the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy
to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I
can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and
daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight
offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't
"believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning
teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the
genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and
Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let
Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques
and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia , New Zealand ,
UK , America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed to
fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other
Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global
warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help
support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ
rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses
or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all
parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful
mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting
caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and
a_ctions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination
or big-whatever for their problems.

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and
early 20's be-deck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making
themselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 83.. Because, mostly, I'm not
going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for
my granddaughter and their children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not
on the way in.

Re: I'm 83, and I'm tired

I agree with it. Too many people in this nation say, "Spread the wealth!" It's way to easy to get ahead here. You merely have to make an honest effort. I'm a 21 year old white male, and if you ask me, I'm in one of the most discriminated groups in America. Everyone assumes I must have it easy or my family provides for me or I was handed a job that pays well. Truth is in America, the darker your skin, the more grants you can get for school. Because lets face it, your life is just more difficult based on race? The more troubled your past, the more your bad actions are attempted to be "tolerated" or "understood". You also can't call people out if they are a different race. There's a cry amoungst the nation, "There's more black people in prison than any other race! It's racism!" Maybe on a national average there are more domestic violence, theft, and murder crimes? Damn, whoda thunk it? With that said, I almost have a higher respect for anyone who is black(over whites) who has a standard job or who has gone above and beyond to acheive great financial stability due to the self pitty that is close to synonomous with their race.

Re: I'm 83, and I'm tired

There's a bloke lives a few doors down from me, just bought his FOURTH car (a jeep to pull his new 28 foot caravan/trailer). Has never worked a day in his life, he just claims pretty much everything from the government. He's fit and healthy, just doesn't want to work. Woman who lives next to me is perfectly capable of working, she just chooses not to and lives off the child benefits she gets (and considering the carS she's driving she's not doing too badly either). Meanwhile I'm working my arse off to pay for em while this country is taking a nosedive in the financial world. Pisses me off no end.

Not to mention we have to give everyone who comes off a boat 3 times as much money as a pensioner who's been living and working in this country their whole life cos hey .... it would be against their human rights otherwise. What about the human rights of your own citizens? Government forgets about that bit every time.

Wow, I thought it was just like this in South Africa. Seems the USA has similar problems. Here, young white males are bottom of the food chain. If you don't work for yourself, you got no chance! Our government feels that its only right for todays young white men and woman to pay for our forefathers crimes. If this is still happening in America, when will it end in South Africa?

As for the old mans post...much respect

When will it end? Probably not in our lifetimes so I'm doing my best to keep up with the "rich white boy" stereo type BRING IT ON, LIFE!

YEP! Sadly, pretty much says it all.

I was young and stupid then. I'm old and stupid now.
We get too soon old, and too late smart.
I started off with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: I'm 83, and I'm tired

I'm white, 21, been unemployed directly out of school, then out of a contract, currently employed at Cessna. Got school bills, pay rent, my bike and car are paid off and I make ends meet all while uncle Sam keeps reaching into my pockets to help pay for neighbors who have more than I have but don't want to work. American dream.
