That's your garden variety AD (Accidental Discharge for those who might not know). According to the aquaintence who sent it to me, the round didn't hit anyone. She's damned lucky she didn't kill her partner or the suspect lying on the ground in front of her. I've been in her shoes in similar circumstances 500 times if I've been there once and she violated rule numero uno of firearms discipline: keep your finger off the trigger until you aquire a target you intend to destroy.

While not an epidemic, this sort of thing happens more than folks might think.

Not to mention that her placement had her pointing the gun right in the direction of her partner. I thought he handled it pretty cooly - if it was me I would have probably let the perp run while I was pistol-whipping the bitch . Well, not really, but I would have been pissed!

good thing she knew where the holster was at least at the end of the clip...shoulda been there all along. Brutus had everthing under control.

One thing viewers of the clip might have noticed is that she has to 'hunt' for the holster - she actually LOOKS for it; someone who practices with their rig (above and beyond the bare minimum many departments provide by way of in-service training) should be able to transition from gun-ready to holstered up without ever taking their eyes off the suspect.

Assault with a deadly weapon, double attempted manslaughter, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of a crime are some of the things that I think of. Nothing funny about her bahavior, sorry.

Wonder what 'Brutus' is saying to her right before the weapon discharges? Probably something to the effect: 'Will you put that *%*%^# gun back in your hoster?'.
