Any of you CAD guys use a Spaceball?

Looking for opinions from anyone that's used a Spaceball for 3D modeling...

Thanks

I'm working on Catia, V4 and V5, and really like it better with the mouse... But I think it's just a question of being more use to it?

I have used one for the last three years with UG, and I love it! It's one of those things that once you use it, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. I wish I had one at home for SolidWorks....

Jet, were you using it as your only pointing device, or on the left in conjunction with your mouse?

I am hoping to use it on the left (2-handed) mode...

I use mine on the left to move around in the model, mouse is the pointer. I love it.

I was using it as my only pointing devise. Maybe I should try using both, never thought about that!

[threadjack]
I just spent the afternoon clanking around in SolidWorks.....no offense to you SW guys, but it really made me appreciate my AutoDesk stuff...

Gonna take some time to get the hang of it....aside from the cartoonish interface, it seems to take about 2X as much mouse travel to create similar features....my RSI shoulder is gonna freak...
