Re: Melbourne

Well, I as in Port douglas installing a Plasma screen a few weeks back, this time around I was in Melbourne organising the repair of a very pricey video projector (and wouldn't you know it? The airline CRACKED THE F*¢KING CASE! But anyway...)

Just as an observation, Melbourne seems to be far more sophisticated than Sydney, much better planning (traffic is so much better than here) oh, yes - motorcycles are far more prominant - the parking on the footpath thing is so damned civilised - why can't the fricken Sydney politicians do the same here? I'm sure they'll only lose about $300 a day in parking fines.

OH, and so many bike shops and nice cafes... Spent my time at the Quay West at Southbank (next to the Sheriton) and anyone who is thinking of visiting melbourne, I highly recommend it

I do think Sydney is a prettier city, but you can't have everything in one place...

I'll post some pics soon...

Re: Melbourne

Buy a house at the halfpoint between the 2 cities, and then you can have both whenever you want

Looking forward to the pics, I've always wanted to visit Australia

Re: Melbourne

Glad you enjoyed out fair city.
The parking on footpaths is very handy and a good encouragment to ride into the city, parking a car is a nightmare or very expensive.
Pitty you not catch up with some of the members though.

Yup, I agree - just didn't really have that much time on hand, pretty much filled my time totally up but I'll be staying longer next time (and probably riding down too...) On another note - I did see my first Benelli Tornado on the road riding down Elizabeth St... Very pretty, all red and sounded nice..

ND4 - that is a damn long drive dude
it's like over 300 miles in either direction, and not much to do but stare at sheep all day..

Quality riding time Maybe you could be the connecting point between the 2 cities. You'll be famous. It could be called Zeesville. And you could have your own bike shop. You know how much business you'd get being the only thing in a 300 mi radius?
