NFL Draft

The NFL Draft is this weekend and I am soooo stoked about it!!! This could be one of the best draft in years b/c of the possibilities of trades at the top of the board...in any case, I'd like to hear some other draftniks ideas of what will happen or what you would like to see your team do.....

me personally, I am a 49ers fan, but I can realistically see 4-12 or 5-11 or maybe, just maybe 6-10 season this year....so, with the 16th pick, the 9ers better make it count...I'd like to see us draft Reggie Williams of UDub to help ease the loss of TO, but he maybe gone by then...if so, we better draft for defense....

Re: NFL Draft

I'm hoping the Brown's can go up from the 7th pick to number 3 to get Gallery. We SOOOO much need an offensive lineman like that. Can't wait for football to start! We'll see how your Garcia works out for the Browns, I think he'll do well IF we have a decent line.

Re: NFL Draft

Well the Steelers could use...well anybody...but hopefully will pick up a good player for the secondary. I'd also like to see the ex-XFL MVP go bye-bye as well

hate to rain on your parade there, Dave...but I don't think the Browns have the ammo to move up to #1 or #2 to get Gallery...a 7-1 or 7-2 jump is a big jump and more than likely will require a king's ransom to do so...he could be around at #3, but Arizona isn't gonna move b/c they are gonna draft Fitzgerald at #3...the G-Men are trying to move up and no way does Gallery last past the 4th pick...the Browns are pretty cash-strapped right now and don't have any really marquee tradeable players....do you mortgage your future for one player...conventional wisdom say with a resounding NO! but I agree, they do need another OL...if I'm Cleveland, I may trade outta the #7 spot to accumulate more picks to fill other needs...

Re: NFL Draft

I hope the Eagles get a DT and a corner. I did not really watch to much College football this year so I don't even know who are the best players at those positions.

Re: NFL Draft

There were rumors of the Brown's offering a package deal of Couch and Dennis Northcutt along with a late pick to move up. I wouldn't say the Browns are strapped right now, they just renegoitated the contracts of Courtney Brown, "Big Money" Gerald Warren and Robert Griffith. We've made some FA pickups without too much money (except for Garcia). I agree Gallery will be gone quick, but who knows, maybe they'll all do the Vikings thing last year and run out of time. Next!

Re: NFL Draft

I suspect the Eagles may look for a defensive lineman (or linebacker) early, and possibly a corner as well. Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard are decent, but I think the D is going to feel the loss of their two veterans (Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor), even though both players are definitely on the decline. The Eagles D wasn't the same in '03 as in past years; they had trouble getting to the QB. Jevon Kearse is definitely going to help that situation, and Dhani Jones (from NYG) is a good defensive FA aquisition, but I'd like to see another quality lineman or even a MLB (to supplement or replace the smallish Mark Simoneau).

All in all, the Kearse and Terrell Owens pickups have been huge for Philly, and I expect they could finally take that next step this year.

Personally, I'm sad to see Duce Staley go (to the stinkin' Steelers!), and I wouldn't have a problem if the Eagles decided to pick up a promising running back with some size and strength. Brian Westbrook is their burner and can break one, but I don't have the same kind of "give him the ball" mentality about Correll Buckhalter.

dude we need so many players it isn't even funny - QB, RB, LB, Corners ..

Cower may be gone at the end of the season if they can't turn it around.

Hopefully Duce will fill the void at RB at least a little and the WR are still good. The secondary is a major problem though as everyone burns them through the air.

Agreed on the Cower point though...but I don't know who'd want to replace him

You guys got a back that was only used half the time during the season I see good rushing # for Duce he is good a catching the ball too. You guys could always bring back Cordell(SP)?
