Question about speeding tickets

Hey all,

If you get speeding ticket that you fight off (i.e.: dropped charges), will LEO be able to still pull up records of that charge the next time they check?

Just got myself a ticket this morn. Didn't clock me, but when asking for ID, I didn't have my ownership papers.

Be fast or be last.

Re: Question about speeding tickets

I'm only guessing here but it seems that it would make sense for it to not remain on your record if you successfully fight it in court...no?

You got a ticket for speeding or for not having a registration? Around here you normally have 24 hours to show registration or a driver's license (if you left home without it) and they'll drop the fine.

If you never try anything new, you'll miss out on many of life's great disappointments.

Re: Question about speeding tickets

I got a ticket for no registration b/c he didn't clock me. His first question was: "Do you get a lot of tickets?"

None that have stuck. I've fought them all off successfully (knock on wood.)

Here it is up to the discression of the officer to issue you a pink or yellow ticket. Pink is show document w/i 24 hrs. Yellow you pay fine (unless you fight).

Be fast or be last.

Re: Question about speeding tickets

In FL they can see them. I don't know if they can bring up the case files, but a LEO laughed at my record this weekend (got off with a warning - yea!).

Re: Question about speeding tickets

He laughed at you? Hmm, that would be pretty amusing to say the least. I have a feeling they can see my record, but can't use it against me - so to speak.

I'll see in court.

By here, do you mean Nebraska or Iowa?
Or does it matter?

Re: Question about speeding tickets

Asiliat... in Toronto they have every record of the time/location your license was CHECKED! I mean, if you're driving along and a cop runs your plate (not even pulled over) it's logged. They can tell exactly where you've been all day if they've run your plate in different locations. I suspect that means they can tell your last ticket too... Unless, of course, it's archived off someplace and not availabe in the car.
