Re: For Mother's Day....

The wife wanted to get our truck detailed. So rather than pay to get it done I decided to save some cash and do it myself. MAN I should have just paid, cause I am paying the price now, but she came out pretty nice considering there was hard water spots cooked into the paint. We had to wash, then use a cleaner/polisher on paint and chrome, then wax. My arms are shot.

You can see in the first couple of shots with the bike how bad it was, then when we finished

Re: For Mother's Day....

I waxed the tacoma today and found out that when I ran over some white paint in the road last month with the right front tire I thought the paint stayed in the wheel well, surprize white speckles down the side of the truck this is gonna take some rubbing!!

Re: For Mother's Day....

That was the worst part about detailing today. My truck hasn't looked that good since I drove it off the showroom floor, but it puts all the scratches and dents on FULL display. I also discovered we had been hit by someone(although it's minor), that's how dirty it was I couldn't even tell.

Wow, what a difference. Even did the rubber, I see. Did you do the interior too? Now it's time to have a nice glass of red and relax. I'm sore too, spent the morning taking out a large sidewalk w/a full size jackhammer - fun tool!

Re: For Mother's Day....

Detailing a car the right way takes its toll on you, but boy is it worth it. When I go full out on my car, I normally take about 6-8 hours. 3 step buffing job, 2 coats of wax, clean carpet, treat leather, dash, windows in & out.
