Energy Bars

I finally have started riding my bike a bunch again, including commuting on a regular basis. Commuting is tough becuase I can't get to work and eat again (I eat before I leave) but I need something to get me through to lunch. I'm also running with my GF in the evenings and my weight is dropping too fast.

So what energy bars do you guys like?

I've tried a bunch, but interested to see if there are some I should check out.

Re: Energy Bars

I'm not sure if this would work, cause its a protein bar, but the new "Detour" protein bar is delecious (for a protein bar). I think it does have a good portion of carbs too.

Re: Energy Bars

For a pure carb snack, nothing beats Cliff Bars.

Re: Energy Bars

Detour, I'll check it out.

I've been eating a banana at work, but it's just not enough, and I need the calories anyways.

I've eaten so many Clif Bars, I'm really burned out on them. The chocolate almond is my fave. Burned out on Powerbars too.

I like the Balance Bars. They actually taste pretty decent.

Re: Energy Bars

I've eaten way too many PowerBars in my day so I now eat Balance Bars or Odwalla Chocolate Chip Peanut bars....yummy too.

Re: Energy Bars

I don't eat energy bars a lot because I unlike you I don't need the calories but I do have the Detour bars in the trailer for racing energy. They're pretty good.

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Re: Energy Bars

My friends will tell you I'm the last person on earth who needs any type of energy bar, as I tend to be a bit . I just eat them for the nutrional replenishment on long rides.

DPS nutrition
One of my friends really likes these. He has arms like my legs and is as trim and fit as anyone I have ever known.

Re: Energy Bars

Another Vote for Detour bars. The wife loves them and will have one whenever she misses one of her 7 or 8 meals to hold her over. I steal them all the time and they taste pretty good.
