Re: new scam

got a very official looking email asking for my credit card, SSN and PIN numbers for a paypal account update. Deleted it and went to the paypal site. They confirmed there is a rash of this ongoing. If you get one of these, trash it.

Luck favors those who are prepared.
Are you smokin that stogie or is it smokin you?

Yep...got a couple different one of these....looks very official with paypal logo and everything.

The only time I enter my pin etc is directly at the paypal site with https in front....

Sadly, many people will fall to such a scam. Those same people are still waiting for the Taco Bell dog to run across their screen after forwarding the latest chain letter to their closest 9 friends.

Fig, what was the reply email-address? Was it supposed to go to Pay Pal or was it [email protected] or something like that?

Re: new scam

Be careful, there is a Ebay scam doing the same thing. I got email 2 days ago asking me to update my credit card info because the exp. date had expired and to 'click on the following link'. I went to Ebay in another window and discovered this to be pure b.s., keep your eyes open, bogeys everywhere.

22 days until it begins...
